Third Solutions, a marketing and technology company based out of Florida has plans to change the way consumers handle receipts at the Point-of-Sales at retail store by completely digitizing paper receipts thus eliminating physical paper receipt at retail stores with their product. MyReceiptsTM is one of the leading Digital Receipt Platform from Third Solutions that consumers can currently utilize at Whole Foods Markets, Hertz, Best Buy, Wegmans, Office Depot and more. Since managing and keeping track of receipts is a real pain in the ass for consumers which can at times lead to frustration when trying to return merchandise and the receipt goes missing, retailer and financial institutions and environmentalist all have a vested interest making receipts available electronically. For retailers, it saves millions of dollars every month not to have to print receipts every time someone checks out at the counter-top.
Third Solutions’ MyReceiptsTM aims to connect retailer and consumers with a web based application that will enable consumers to store, manage receipts, rebates, coupons, which is easily accessible at anytime. Alone with web-based access is the mobile platform. MyReceipts app is currently available for Apple’s iPhone and iPad and Third Solutions will subsequently be adding Google’s Android, RIM’s Blackberry, Windows Mobile and other to the MyReceipts mobile platform.
For Environmentalists, MyReceipt helps consumers and retailers eliminate paper waste thus contributing to sustainability. Electronic delivery of receipts also reduces the amount of energy that is consumed daily by retailer with printing receipts, coupons, etc.
In addition to Third Solutions’ MyReceipts, there are a number of players in this space working on solutions such as Intuit, Best Buy, Transaction Tree, Afterbot allEtronic and more. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for digital receipts at the point of sale.
