MasterCard Appoints Ed McLaughlin Chief Emerging Payments Officer and Eileen Simon Chief Franchise Development Officer
Today, MasterCard Worldwide put out a press release on its website announcing to the world that Ed McLaughlin has a new job as the Chief Emerging Payments Officer and Eileen Simon as the Chief Franchise Development Officer at the company. The appointment for the two individuals is effective immediately according to the announcement.
McLaughlin’s job description will involve leading and overseeing the development of the various payment products of MasterCard offers such as Mobile Payments which also includes person-to-person payments, Online Bill Payments, m-commerce and e-commerce, the contactless Near Field Communication (NFC) PayPass/Transit, Chip and much more. He is actually replacing Josh Perez who is pursuing other opportunities with another company. McLaughlin previously served as the executive of the Franchise Development group at MasterCard when he got that job back in 2005.
As for Simon, her new role entails coming up with creative and innovative ways to better position the company by developing and implementing global strategies that will enable MasterCard to be more competitive in the global market. She will also take on responsibility involving approvals and licensing, dispute resolution, registration, compliance and other things involving the furthering of the MasterCard Worldwide brand,
